The wonders of modern technology never cease to amaze me. As I wrote earlier, my aunt passed away yesterday. The toughest part was telling my father. As much as he wants to be there, he just cannot be. So my cousins did the next best thing - we skyped them at the funeral house. (I cannot believe I just used skype as a verb) They placed the laptop by the coffin, and my father was able to "view" and pray for my aunt instantaneously like he was there. Yes, I know it sounds a little morbid, but...it was pretty effective. My father was able to see her body "in real time." It went a long way in easing the pain of not being there. Technology, it turns out, can even heal broken hearts.
And there's another typhoon in the Philippines, which is allegedly just as strong as the deadly one that hit them a year ago. I hope Jojo, who is vacationing there right now, doesn't get much affected by the strong rain and howling winds. I saw part of the coverage on TV Patrol, and it is kind of scary, but the last report was saying that it isn't hitting as hard so there's good news there somewhere.
"The night kissed the fading day, with a whisper: "I am death, your mother, From me you will get new birth."
- Rabindranth Tagore
