"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins."

Purple People
Today, everyone was advised to wear purple to raise awareness for all those young gay kids who committed suicide because they were bullied. Bullying - it has been around for the longest time (I myself was a victim of this) and I do not really know if it will ever really go away, but something has to be done so it won't have as tragic income for the youth of today. I wish the answer were as easy as wearing a purple shirt, but it's not. But... I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of people wearing purple today, though. I looked around at the people in my train car, and I would say at least a quarter of them were wearing purple - whether they mean to do have done it or not. There's this woman who looked at me and smiled - it was a silent recognition of the awareness, I thought. Even Whoopi and Joy on "The View" wore purple, and Kristin Davis celebrated it on her Facebook page. When she got some homophobic comments on her shout-out, she made a statement saying she is blocking anyone who expresses those sentiments on her age. I mean, whatta gal! Makes me really proud to be "Charlotte."
