It's nippy tonight. Fall is here, and I do like this crisp cold weather. But part of me is getting a tad melancholy, missing the sunny, warmer days. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be sunny, and nice. Mike and I had lunch today at Sammy's, and then we walked around. I finally got the Mayorship at Aedes, and I am so happy I got it - the simplest things in life sometimes makes me happy. Right now, I want to get a new comforter, and I hope to find one tomorrow. I get a new one once a year, and then my older ones I throw away. I get use out of them, so I don't feel like I am wasting. They make them so flimsy nowadays anyway that after three or four washings (and I wash mine a lot) they kind of lose their shape. And I really do not like down comforters - I find myself getting too warm, too hot after an hour or so. But I do like getting wrapped in them, like a cocoon. Maybe because there's no one for me to cuddle with. It's okay, I am used to it by now.
Flowers ... are a proud assertion
that a ray of beauty outvalues
all the utilities of the world.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
