On The Third Day Of Christmas

I don't know what about Mariah Carey and Christmas, but they seem to be a match.  I thought about that when I was watching the Mariah Carey Christmas Special last night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I know the jokes, "Ho Ho Ho," and all, and I do realize that Mariah's persona can be overbearing at times, but she just seems so...festive, and there is just the right touch of camp value that it just...works! And you can see her "showing" already - she is probably way past her first trimester. She even sang 'O Come All Ye Faithful' with her mother, who is an opera singer, and it was touching. I mean, who knew that Mariah Carey could instill just a little bit more Christmas in anyone? And of course, I loved that she sang a live version of 'Christmastime Is In The Air Again,' and she even gave a shout out to Marc Shaiman! Merry all-round!

As long as we know in our hearts
what Christmas ought to be,
Christmas is.
