I had a fun dinner with Gabby last night. We walked from his hotel to the strip. It was four blocks, and someone told me it was unsafe, but...hardly. Hey - people tend to forget I lived in NY and can handle things of that nature. This was a piece of cake. This was already 8:30, and most buffets close at 10, so at the corner of Flamingo, we made a choice between Ceasar's Palace and Bellagio. Well, a lot of people rave about the buffet at Bellagio, so there we went. We were on line close to 9 p.m. but we got a "warning" that "kitchen closes at 10:00 p.m., and they take food away at 10:30." And they they warn of a thirty minute wait. So we try to make a decision, and people behind us started leaving. But we persevere and wait. We were literally the second to the last party. We made it in with plenty to spare. What do I think of the buffet? There are claims that it is the buffet of the strip, but from my limited experience, I would still give that title to Cosmopolitan. Bellagio's is pretty solid, and the best thing about it is that their steaks are made of Kobe beef. Needless to say, the sirloin and prime rib is to die for. I love their Italian fare as well (this is still the Bellagio, of course) and the talk about their deserts is true. The cheesecake is heavenly. Nothing too fancy about it - it's just well-done, and you can tell that it was made from the best ingredients. And as much as we could still walk around and gallivant, Gabby wanted to head back to his room and rest, as he had an early flight. He has to work Monday, and did not want to over-exert himself. He told me about his trip to the and asked if I had plans of going home. As of right now, none really. Not that I wouldn't want to, but there are other places I want to visit first.
The Dreamers Prayer:
Lord, maker of desires and dreams,
hold me close to the heart of thy spirit
so that by the grace of thy almighty hand
I will be able to fulfill
the reason you placed me here on this earth
by following and accomplishing my dreams.
